Hibiki has one of the same old stories that many have heard when it comes to awakening as a Dreamer... being that her figment—along with numerous other figments—was attacked by a Nightmare. This happened when Hibiki was 13... but it's actually not when Hibiki awoke as a Dreamer. Instead, her Figment was saved by Kanade Amou, otherwise known as Dreamer Gungnir. This event left a deep and lasting impression on Hibiki... one that would stick with her for the rest of her life.
Hibiki would spend the next two years admiring Dreamer Gungnir, to the point that she was essentially a groupie due to Kanade Amou being an active idol. In fact, it's because of this that Hibiki is a huge idol fan. Still, in the end, Hibiki's figment ended up being victim to yet another Nightmare attack... and this time, she didn't have anybody around to save her. It was at this moment that Hibiki awakened as Dreamer Gungnir! Curiously taking on the same name as her role-model.
After awakening as a Dreamer, word of another Dreamer Gungnir would eventually cause Hibiki and Kanade to meet properly... resulting in Kanade taking Hibiki under her wing for the next two years. Eventually, though, Kanade would suggest to Hibiki that she learn how to properly spread her wings on her own... thus resulting in Hibiki reluctantly deciding to transfer to Yumemigaoka's Promised Morning Academy.
"Reluctantly" being because, well... Hibiki has a girlfriend in her childhood friend, Miku Kohinata... who is not a Dreamer and is unable to go with Hibiki because of her parents. As a result, while Hibiki is very effective as a Dreamer, her grades are notoriously bad and she is in a perpetual state of missing her wife. Still, as a result of being trained by an experienced Dreamer herself, Hibiki's already strong enough to be considered experienced.
Hibiki isn't very different from her canon self. She's cheerful, empathetic, selfless to a fault, and sensitive despite her attempts to hide it. There's nothing she enjoys more than helping others... which might be attributed to a number of reasons. Behind Hibiki's cheerful attitude are a number of darker experiences that shaped her just as much as everything else. Frequently being bullied as a child, her father leaving with no explanation and never coming back, and the fact that while the 13-year-old Hibiki came out of the Nightmare attack relatively unscathed, others were not as lucky... leaving Hibiki with a bit of a guilt complex.
With Kanade as her role model, however, she began helping others... and found a form of salvation in that act. Even if it isn't perfect, that bright and pleasant feeling in her chest whenever she helps others became her motivation... both in and out of the Dreamsphere.
Unfortunately, her bad habit of hiding her negative feelings can frequently backfire, either due to Hibiki being unfocused as a result, or simply causing problems due to the importance of emotions to a Dreamer. This habit is a result of Hibiki's damaged self-worth due to her guilt-complex, and if bottled up for too long, can result in Hibiki unexpectedly lashing out at others... something that usually leaves Hibiki deeply ashamed soon after.
Still, while Hibiki prefers to hide the darkness of her own heart from others, it doesn't necessarily make her outward cheeriness a lie. Hibiki is a voracious eater, struggles at paying attention or understanding anything complex, will never shut up about her girlfriend if she starts talking about her, and has an extreme soft spot for younger kids. Her use of honorifics are based on her "feeling" of a person rather than age or anything else, she is incredibly gung-ho about idols, and enjoys karaoke as her favorite go-to hobby despite being unconfident about her own singing voice. She's open about anything that isn't her weight, dislikes confrontations, and should never be trusted alone in the kitchen unless you're fine with a disastrous mess.
All of these things are genuine traits when it comes to Hibiki. Essentially, she's a girl of high highs and low lows, so while she can always be trusted to be a kind, exciting, and warming presence in your life... she can crash hard, and the signs tend to be very well hidden.
TL:DR for those who are canon-familiar: Hibiki was saved from a nightmare attack by Kanade, became a Dreamer at 15, and has been a Dreamer for two years. Also Kanade is alive in this AU as her mentor... hint hint nudge nudge I'm looking at you Kanade players—

About
Hibiki is outgoing, friendly, and perhaps overwhelmingly optimistic. She treats everyone with kindness, even those that used to be enemies. She doesn't want to fight unless she necessarily has to and wouldn't want to have pointless battles when she believes the problem could be talked about calmly first. Otherwise, she gladly dons her Symphogear in order to help people who are in danger that otherwise can't be used by ordinary means. At other times, she is sensitive about certain topics - her father and her past, especially the past being two of them. She also has a softer side, frequently hides her feelings about specific things and rarely shows herself being sad to anyone whenever it's a problem related to herself, even her friends, but can also be touched and easily cry if hearing sad stories. In this regard, she forces herself to keep a smile for others. The only person that can normally tell she's putting on a facade is Miku. This can hinder Hibiki when in battle, as she allows her emotions to get the better of her. She can also make a bad habit of running away from her problems and bouts of self-doubt.Zwei Wing Tragedy & Fallout (Backstory):
2 years prior to the start of Symphogear's main story, the specially classified disaster known as the Noise emerged in the middle of a public performance by Zwei Wing. Combining the numbers of spectators and staff, there were over 100,000 people present at the concert hall. The number of deceased or missing totaled 12,874, a terrible disaster. However despite the fact this occurred on such an unparalleled scale, the tragedy does not end there but continued on.
Of the 12,874 that died approximately 1/3 of them was due to the Noise. The others died as either the result of being crushed by the crowds attempting to flee, or by intense fighting that broke out between attendees trying to secure their escape. This information was published in weekly magazines and quickly set the stage for public opinion. Since the majority of deaths became attributed to other people, the survivors began to experience public bashing. Victims and bereaved families of the deceased also received reparation from the national treasury, and thus the public opinion turned into a harsh debate about one's self-responsibility. Although what had been published and announced in the press was accurate information, a lot of it had been modified to agitate people's emotions, glorifying certain aspects of the story. Using "righteousness" as their guide, many people took to the internet and began to spread their own opinion on the story.
It eventually broiled to the point where even those that were uninvolved or uninterested in the event had begun talking about it passionately, as it distracted them from other problems. Thoughtless slander was thrown around, supported by the majority as having "sound reasoning," not because they had deduced this themselves but rather "because everyone else was saying so." At this point the true nature of the tragedy was lost and had turned into something akin to a witch hunt from the middle ages, fueled by some warped sense of "justice." The goodness of people and their ability to become emotionally attached had been twisted and changed into a drive to hunt down the survivors of the tragedy simply for the reason that "because they survived." Of course at this point there was a faction of individuals who held the opposite opinion, but the majority had already made up their minds and the wave of madness swallowed up any opposition.
Hibiki Tachibana's environment was greatly affected by this. One victim of the tragedy was a boy who attended the same middle school as Hibiki. He was the captain of the soccer team and had a very bright future ahead of himself as a student. Why he had died and Hibiki, who had no redeeming features worth mentioning, had lived was something used to torment her. It all started with a single student, a young girl who had been a fan of the boy, who lashed out at Hibiki yelling in hysterics. It wasn't long before it had consumed the entire school. But that was far from the extent of it.
The daughter of the president of a company that Hibiki's father did business with was also among the list of the deceased. At first her father was incredibly overjoyed that Hibiki had survived the ordeal, but it wasn't long before the news spread around and he found that his contract with the company had been rejected and was removed from the project. Having lost his sense of pride and unable to figure out how to cope with the situation, her father turned to alcohol which eventually led to him yelling and raising his hand against others within the household. Originally her father had married into her mother's family, taking on her name, but one day on his way to work he intentionally went missing, abandoning the family altogether and never returned to the house again.
Be it at school or at home, Hibiki took on an immense amount of unreasonable torment and harassment. The young girl who puts all her efforts into helping others, is also a girl with a past that had been trampled on by those same people.
The darkness in people's hearts, born of a mutual misunderstanding. Having been exposed to this darkness more than most, Hibiki is still somehow capable of believing in others. Surely this is because she knows that in the space between 2 people, there exists sunlight.

She is incredibly out-going and at times airheaded. Cheerful and open, Hibiki is typically considered as an approachable person, though for some such blinding outgoingness can be intimidating. Due to the "naive" nature of her ideologies and beliefs, many typically tend to assume that Hibiki has lived a life free from any hardships. Normally, this would have even been the case, but the truth is far different than that. Still, she keeps a smile on her face in hopes that others don't find out about this.
features Along with the popular joke about Hibiki's butt being her "charm point", she's a fairly normal-looking girl by all means, though her appearance is deceptive, as she is far more physically powerful than she looks at first glance. What tends to be notable when her chest is exposed is the scar on her chest shaped like the "Forte" symbol, which in music dynamics, means a louder, stronger note. The shape is also reminiscent of the holes in a violin.
Along with various growing muscles, Hibiki's body is also privy to a number of smaller, less noticeable scars from her missions as a Symphogear Wielder. This includes a faint scar along the width of her arm just below her shoulder, where her arm had been bitten off during her battle with the Nephilim, and subsequently regenerated after entering her berserk state. It is mysteriously unable to be seen, however, when her gear is equipped. (Note, this section is based on personal headcanons, as scars outside of the one on her chest are not seen icly).

Digimon Partner: Jyarimon, Sunmon, Coronamon. They have a very feisty personality and are almost constantly ready to fight, much to Hibiki's chagrin because of her stance on wanting to talk things out first before fighting comes into play, whereas to Coronamon, there is nothing that can't be solved by a good punch. That being said, Coronamon has a good moral compass and typically only wants to start fights for "the right reasons". Something that Hibiki can agree with... but she really wishes that "punching them" wasn't their first and only solution.

CRAU?: Nope
Personality: Perhaps it's repeating what's said in her wiki page, but Hibiki is outgoing, friendly, and perhaps overwhelmingly optimistic. She is quick to look on the bright side of things, and aims to do everything she can in order to help others, especially if someone is in danger. Hence the reason why she decides to use her Symphogear, so that she can help and save others who are in danger.
Though Hibiki is definitely a girl you don't want to mess with, she never wants to fight unless she absolutely has to, and believes that before fighting, they should talk things out calmly and try to solve the problem that way. That being said, if fighting really is the only option, then her fists are rated E for Everyone.
Though she is usually a shining beacon of positivity, she is sensitive about certain topics, and has a softer side that she tries to hide from others. Whenever it's a problem that concerns herself, Hibiki will try to hide her feelings on the matter and refuses to allow others to see her looking sad—though she does cry easily in the case of hearing touching or sad stories. Thus, it's difficult to distinguish her genuine smile from the smile being used as a facade... though Miku can easily tell which is which. It's a bad habit, but her friends are usually able to help and pull her out of the depressive holes that she digs for herself.
