While usually other Gungnir users are able to summon a large spear to use in battle, Hibiki is initially unable to utilize this due to only possessing fragments of Gungnir... and even after being purged of those fragments and receiving a proper Gungnir relic, she instead prefers to fight by utilizing her hands and feet, effectively functioning as a "Brawler-Type".
This is also due to her wish to "bring people together". Thus, the energy meant for her Armed Gear is instead channeled into her fists and feet, allowing her to remain empty-handed, and thus able to extend an open hand to others. As she grew and became stronger, her Gear became stronger as well, as her gauntlets are now able to transform in order to unleash a wider variety of attacks and utilize more power.
While Hibiki is capable of wielding immense and frankly monstrous levels of power, it is like every other Symphogear, in the sense that it is powered by the user's song and Phonic Gain.
"Able to respond to the synthetic vibration resonance created by the fighting spirit of the user, the Symphogear's greatest trait is its internal functionality to play a certain melody. By synchronizing that melody with the user through song, the Symphogear displays an incredibly high rate of battle potential.
The Symphogear itself plays the instrumentals and backing track of the song, and the lyrics naturally come to the wearers mind, and are based off their thoughts and feelings. When multiple users are in Unison, it can be assumed that the gears syncing up allows for the seamless duets and group songs.
Although the armor is able to absorb damage during battle, any sort of disruption of the song will result in a temporary dampening of its battle potential. At the moment, this is the only weakness that has been observed in the Symphogear system."
Essentially, in order to utilize the Symphogear to it's fullest potential, Hibiki has to sing, and man can she sing. The songs apparently come into the heads of Symphogear-wielders, and thus the lyrics are typically symbolic or representative of the singer's mental state. Ignite Module: A power-up for the Symphogears introduced during G via "Project Ignite". It utilizes shards of the relic Dainsleif, a cursed sword, to harness the energy of the Symphogear's berserk state into a form that allows the user to keep their sanity. During the battle against Adam Weishaupt, however, the shard of Dainsleif in each Symphogear was used as a catalyst to divert the strain of alchemic energy from the Symphogears, disintegrating the shard and the Ignite Module along with it. Amalgam: The Amalgam is a form for the Symphogears introduced in XV, unlocked by accessing the hidden power of the Symphogears rebuilt by the Philosopher's Stone during the battle with Adam Weishaupt. It is a fusion of the Symphogear and a Faust Robe.
Upon activation, it instantly releases the energy that composes the Symphogear and reforms it into a golden "Cocoon", a first stage that gives the user a far more powerful barrier field (and that consumes far more energy) than normal. Next, the energy is reformed into a high-output armed gear, becoming a reorganized into an "Imago" that serves as a second stage.
Put simply, it causes an extreme imbalance between defensive and offensive parameters. In the Cocoon stage, defensive ability is greatly raised while attack power is greatly hampered. In the Imago" stage, attack power is greatly raised while defensive power is greatly hampered. As a result, the number of situations where this ability is useful is limited.
Despite its apparent lack of flexibility, for the Symphogear users who have been practicing and training with many of the Symphogear's special functions (starting with G3FA), it is seen not as a new restraint but is hoped to become a potential alternative to the power offered by the destroyed Ignite Module. X-Drive: The evolved true form of the Symphogear. This form is concealed within the Symphogear relics under 301,655,722 locks, and can only be unlocked under a high-level phonic gain. The X-Drive appears to only last for one use before the user's Symphogear reverts to their normal form at whatever level they had last naturally unlocked it at.
When the X-Drive is active, the Symphogear gains a predominantly-white color scheme and enhanced design, universally including the addition of angelic wings formed of colored light. In this state, all Symphogears, regardless of their normal abilities, are capable of unassisted flight both in the Earth's atmosphere and in space. They can also communicate telepathically with each other, and others such as Finé.
All of the user's normal attacks can still be utilized, but at such a drastically greater level of both power and scope that destroying an entire army of Noise is an easy task, and even standing up to a fully-energized complete relic becomes possible. On top of this, the X-Drive can be used to bolster the strength of another wielded relic, such as Solomon's Cane or Durandal.
